The Week of April 23rd

1. Describe Antler, Texas. What kind of town is it? What is it like for Toby to live there? HOw does this compare to our community at Villa?

2. What is it like for Zachary to live inside the trailer? How does he deal with it? Would you trade your life with your family for the freedom of living on your own?

IT is probaly kind of boring for toby to live in such what sounds like a very boring town besides his friends.Antler compared to villas comunity , there is a very big diferance because villa has more tecnology than Antler it sounds like.Villa is more up to date.I don't think Zachary likes living in his trailer because if you had some peopel throwin stick at you and if he lived in a house he probaly would be skinnyer because he would get more exersize. I think he deals with it whit food I think that because if you are sad or bored you useualy go for food (thats what I try not to do but sometimes I do ). I would not trade because I belive that every thing is suposed to happen for a reason. I mean you don't just do stuff if it dose not have a reason. I just wold not trade.

1. Antler, Texas sounds like a pretty boring place. It's hard for Toby because his mom is what everyone is talking about. I think Villa is WAY more interesting.
2. Zachary has everything that he needs in the trailer but it's probably annoying to have people staring at you all the time. He just sits on the couch and watches TV. I would never trade my family for freedom!!

Antler, Texas is "as boring as watching worms mate." Antler seems like a pretty boring town, but my dad would have loved it there. Although the heat does affect what you can and can't do. Antler seems like it is a town that doesn't spend a lot of money, but it meets living conditions. Seems like a 60's setting. I would have been bored to death unless I had a shovel and my friends that I dig with. Antler is a lot different than Villa because, first we have much more technology. Second I don't do THAT many chores, and third, I don't have any friends in my neighborhood because everyone is in their 40's or over.
Toby doesn't seem to mind living in Antler, but he wishes that life there would be a bit more exciting, even though he's got his friends. Wish granted. Life becomes much more ecxilerating and interesting when Zachary Beaver comes to town. I certainly would NOT give up my family and friends just to live alone!! It's not worth it. IT'S OUT OF THE QUESTION!!!!!!!

Hello, I think Antler is on eof those towns where not a lot of people hear about it. They don't talk about it too much. It seems like a plain type of town.

I think Toby likes the town but there is not much to do, considering that there is only 5 stores, I tihink. He doesn't have that many friends though, only Cal and some of the store owners or employees. It is mostly hot there and it must be a pain to go out in the burining weather. He does have a lot of fun though. He and Cal do everything together. Antler is like an ant compared to Villa, ( get it?)

I think Zachary Beaver hates the town. I personally dont think he could live like that for the rest of his life.

i wouldn't trade because I like it the way it is and it will stay that way.

I think that Antler, Texas sounds like a normal town that doesn't have as many occupants as many of today's towns do. It doesn't seem to have as much technology as Villa does, but I don't think that it is totally out of date. Antler doesn't seem like it is really from the old town time period, but it doesn't seem to have as many computers and electronics as we do. It seems like Toby and his friends don't do nearly as much sitting around playing video games as some kids in today's world do.

Living in a trailer like Zachary's doesn't seem like much fun. I would never trade in life with my family for life by myself. It must be awful, with nothing but television and dumbfounded visitors to keep you company. You don't have anyone to get you in trouble, but you also don't have anyone to play a game with when you get bored. You may not have a mom to make you do chores, but you also don't have a mom to cheer you up when you are sad.

Toodles, everyone!

Antler, Texas is a very small quiet town. For Toby, the town is kind of boring but he makes the best of it. Villa is also small but it isn't boring. The people in both places are nice.

Living inside the trailer can be boing. Zachary just sits around and watches TV and reads. I wouldn't trade my life with my family to live on my own. I need a good education and my family makes sure I get it. My family takes really good care of me.

HELLO PEOPLE IN FIFTH AND SIXTH GRADES!!!!! HOW ART THOU?????
I Think Zachary beaver is a splendido book, even though it was not my first choice. I am glad that I got my second choice, because it probably is going to turn a better choice then my first choice. Anyway, i know you wonderful homo sapiens don't really find that all that interesting. So, lets get down to business.
I disagree with mlb5 (whoever that is.) IN towns like that, you know everyone. it is like having your own huge, big, different looking family. Like every town, it has it's +s and it's -s. If something bad happens to you, people are there in a jiffy, ready to be helpful and kind and all that jazz. You know people, and they know you. You end up being a lot closer to everyone in the entire town, because your so cramped together and everybody needs SOMEONE to talk to, so eventually your gonna get to know SOMEBODY!!
I think some -s would be that if you made some kind of mistake, or lost some tournament or something that you don't really want to share like your parents getting divorced happened, then it probably wouldn't be the best thing in the world to have everybody completely in your business immediately. And, if you were sad, and you didn't really WANT any Southern hospitality, and you just felt like spitting on anyone who tried to help you, then you probably wouldn't want to live in a town like that, either. But, for the most part, i think it woul be kind of nice to have a small town where you knew everyone and you just... well, you knew everyone better than in a bigger town. A few more stores and restaurants might be nice, though.
Antler Texas does seem kinda boring though... A boring little Southern town with a strange librarian.
Our communtiy at villa...now that kind of puzzles me... does it meen the town of Villa Hills, or Villa Madonna Academy? i think it meens our school...
Antler compares to our school in many ways. It has a few similarities... We are both relatively small communities, and everyone basically knows eachother's business and eachother. There is quite a lot of gossip in Antler, too, and there is QUITE a lot of gossip at Villa... most of it stupid, though, and pointless...
They are different for several reasons. for one, Villa is a school, with a capital S. Antler is a town. Villa is basically composed of a bunch of little to not-so-little kids. Antler seems to be mostly composed of middle aged to old crabby people. Not a very exciting place for a kid to be.
Villa, however, is the best, most excitable place in the planet!!!! LEARNING IS MY PASSION!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! Villa is like a Chucky Cheese, except cleaner and with better food.
BYE EVERYBODY!!!! remember- Le monde est circulaire.

PEACE!!!!

HEYY!!!!!! SORRY I ALREADY SORT OF POSTED A REALLY LONG ONE BUT I FOPRGOT TO ANSWER THE SECOND QUESTION!!! sorry, hehehehe... (oh, and sorry about the french quotes... i keep forgetting we are not talking to french people...)
Anyhew, as you know i really like this book. It is very mucho bueno.
I would absolutely HATE to be Zachary beaver. I swear... how could anyone live like that? Riding around in a hot, cramped, sweaty trailer that you are practically to fat for? ( Not to be harsh or anything... i have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING against people who could afford to lose a few pounds... they could rule the world, and I would say, 'You know what, it doesn't really matter if your chubby. I like you anyway!!!!!"
I don't blame the poor guy for being grouchy. he probably didn't WANT to be a guy known for being fat... who wants that?
I know I agree with someone whos blog i read. I forget there name. It is really late and I still have to do my reflection so i'm sorry Ms.B and Ms.Y and whosever blog this is from, I am really tired and I just can't look for it right now. Anyhew, that personage said that he probably was to depressed to do anything but eat. When you are sad, you want to eat. it's natural... by the way, a chocolate milkshake sounds REALLY good right now.
Not that i'm depressed or anything.
Cause i'm not.

ANYWAY, while I was at the gym, i noticed a strange thing. You never, EVER see obese, or even fat people at the gym. not once have I seen a fat person at the gym, working out!!! I've seen chubby people, but never a supremely chubby person ( I'm trying to use synonyms that don't sound so mean...) I guess they are embarassed to run on a treadmill in front of all these skinny ninnys who work out like every day. i think it would be avery hard life to be Zachary beaver.
I would not trade myh life for anyone unless i had the smae parents, but like they lived in vermont or somewhere else really pretty, and if ,aybe I didn't inherit vericose veins, a high forehead, and supremely short legs. And burnable non-tanning skin.
THose things kind of stink.

REMEMBER... la vie est bonne.

BYE BYE!!!!

PEACE DUDES!!!!

the world is round.

Antler texas is a small town with not a lot to do. It is probably very boring for toby if theyre paying 2 dollars to see a fat kid. I have no idea how this relates to Villa Hills. It's probably boring and lonely. He deals with it by watching TV and reading. No way!

1. Antler, Texas seems like a very small town that when any news around town is big news. Everybody knows everybody and if something happens word spreads fast. If someone comes to town everyone is suspicious becuase everyone asks the same question, "why would they come to a place in the middle of no where like Antler." For Toby he finds living in Antler a bore. He thinks nothing ever happens and he wants to leave and get away from the small town and meet new people. Toby does not likke Antler and thinks there is nothing here for him.Antler compares to our Villa community because both Antler and Villa are small. Overall most people that have been at Villa a while nows who everyone is and if someone new comes they know about it, news travels fast.

2. Zachary doesn't seem to show he cares much about living in a trailer alone by himself. In some ways I think it is just an act and that he really is lonely and wants someone to talk to. Partly, I think that is why he is so shy and rude at the same time. Because he doesn't socialize and does not see people face to face on a daily basis. I would never in a million years give up my family to be alone. Family is very important to me and I would never give it up even if it meant freedom

I totally agree with EMK when she says that Villa and Antler ARE alike. Small towns and small communities produce a lot of gossip! However, I can see where you would also think they are different because Antler seems to be so boring, and Ms.Y and I keep things entertaining at Villa! ;)

Anter is a small town in texas and nothing is very fun or exciting there, I dont think toby likes it because nothing goog ever happens. Villa is busy and antler is boring, in villa people can do diffrent things and in antler you cant do much. Zachary hates living in a trailer I think he should live in a house. He dosnt do a lot and he reads books. he also mainly eats because he dosnt have much to do. I would not give up my family.

a)antler texas is a small boring city with five stores. I think it is boring and hard for toby to live there because you have to work for most of your stuff. It compares to Villa because we have a small population and they have a small population.

b) to live in a trailer is hard for zachary beaver. He is so big that it is hard to maneuver around. He deals with it by making other people do his dirty work. Well, actually for a little while he made Toby and that other kid do his dirty work. I would gladly leave my family to live a life on my own. It is not that I don't like my family. It s just that I hate having 3 other people telling me what to do.

I think When zachary Beaver Came To Town was slow when it started it was slow and wasn't very good. But it got better and better until I read ahead and now I am a big harry cheater. I think Toby is absoulutely bored. But I would never ever trade my family.

Hello! So far I don't like this book a lot. It is one of those books that starts off really slow and kind of boring. Although I am hoping that it speeds up when something surprising happens. I think it will get better.

A) I think Antler, Texas is a really small town that nothing very big ever happens in. I don't think I would really like to live in because if a town in so boring and there is nothing to do, I wouldn't be the happiest camper. And I agree with MCC6 about how if there is exciting new around the town, it spreads fast and everybody will know about it within the day it happens. I don't really think that Toby enjoys living in Antler. He would probably like a more upbeat town. I think Antler compares to Villa because they aren’t the biggest towns and everyone knows each other. Other than that I don't really think that Villa and Antler have too much in common.

B) Zachary doesn't seem to talk much about how he likes or doesn't like his house. I don't think he likes to live in a trailer though. I wouldn't be able to stand living in somewhere that small. I think Zachary wishes that he wasn’t always alone and he had more real friends. The only time Zachary gets to see a lot of people is when people pay to see the biggest boy in the world. I would defiantly not trade living with my family for living by myself. I would get so board and there would be nothing to do.

I think the book is kind of boring. What do you guys think?

Yo Its MPD happiness runs in a circular motion! AT= Antler Texas
dumbfounded Mll6 used a vocab word good job!
Well Antler, Texas is sooo boring it could put coffee to sleep. The book is ok but really AT is small because like EMK said everyone knows you. That would take some getting used to.It would be freaky to have a random guy named Philly bob come up to you and say hi Toby or Hi cal.Well i guess over all I would never ever ever ever want to live in AT rest of the commenters you did an awesome job would you want to live in AT?

I WOULD NEVER GIVE UP MY FAMILY FOR 9 QUADRILLION DOLLARS. Who would give up there family any way. Zachary Beaver has a reason to be a snot if my parents died I would be bitter for the rest of my life unless I was grown up. Well I would never want to live in a trailer because it is just stupid. Why would you want to ever live in a dirty and ugly trailer.

Abercrombie is stupid

Bye dudes and dudets
P.S- Happiness runs in a circular motion!!!!!!!!!!!

Antler,Texas seems like a boring western town were nothing ever happens. I wouldnt like to live thear, would you?

Anonymous said...

For Toby it probably would be boring because it seems boring to me {Antler,Texas} and I have only read the first seven chapters and Toby has lived there for thirteen years. Maybey he finds stuff to do, or he is just bored all the time.

Anonymous said...

It doesnt compare my life to Villa that much, because at Villa there is always something to do. In Antler there is never anything to do.

It is probably boring for Zachary to live in that trailer because ther is nothing for hom to do. He just sits there and waits for his show to happen. He probably just deals with it by watching T.V or something like that. Or he eats and sleeps. Or all of the above. I would never trade my life and family to live on my own because my family loves me and protects me aldo they take care of me. I could never give that up. EVER.
